The Citta 50 condominium complex has come a long way from its earliest incarnation as a coal factory. More than a century later, developer Andrew Economaksi partnered with the well-known architectural firm Bonstra Haresign to give the unassuming three-story brick structure a new lease on life, adding taller wings to the side and the rear. This part of the Logan Circle neighborhood is often referred to as Auto Row, due to the number of early 20th century automobile showrooms and repair shops that once flourished here. This is a very active area, with shops, restaurants, and boutique retailers in all directions, including along 14th Street which acts as Logan Circle’s main business drag. Milk Bar is across the street at the corner of 15th and Church, and Le Diplomate, Chicken + Whiskey, Logan Tavern, Call Your Mother Deli, and 54 Noodles Bar are just a few of the other local favorites.
