Metrorail stations in Old Town include King Street, Braddock Road, and the new Potomac Yard station currently under construction. Other Metro stations include Van Dorn, Eisenhower Avenue, Huntington, Crystal City, and Pentagon City. Driving is also a convenient means for commuters, with the I-395 leading into the heart of Washington, DC and the I-495 Capital Beltway heading into Maryland. With parks, highly rated schools, quaint farmers markets, and a thriving arts and culture scene, Alexandria and its various neighborhoods are among America’s top places to live.
The City of Alexandria has a smaller geographical footprint than the greater Alexandria area, but it’s sizeable, nonetheless. Within the city are numerous unique neighborhoods, with the crown jewel being Old Town Alexandria. As the historic seat of the city, Old Town is one of the country’s most popular destination places for visitors, as well as a highly sought-after area to live with luxury real estate ranging from centuries-old rowhouses to new waterfront condos.
