Modern Condo Features at Wooster and Mercer

Delivered in 2007, the Wooster and Mercer Lofts combine modernity with an older industrial ethos, the result being a perfect blend of luxury and style. From the outside, the buildings resemble brick schools or warehouses, with grassy manicured grounds weaving in-between. Step inside, and the residences themselves feature massive factory-style windows, and huge Great Rooms that bring living, dining, and cooking all into one open area with soaring ceilings and exposed ductwork overhead. During the construction phase, aged bricks were transported from a Washington, DC building dating to the 1870s that was originally home to the charitable Sisters of the Poor organization. Those ancient pieces of reclaimed red stone now serve as interior brick wall accents.

There are a number of different layouts at Wooster and Mercer, ranging from one bedroom up to two bedrooms plus additional living spaces such as dens, libraries, or entertainment areas. Square footage runs from 775 to over 3,000 square feet. A large percentage, but not all, of the residences are true lofts, with two stories of giant windows, floating iron stairs, and long hanging pendant lights. Some of the larger units have entrances at each level, and most have private outdoor spaces, from patios with brick walls to impressive roof level terraces for the penthouses. The open chef kitchens are particularly impressive, with extended granite dining/prep islands, and Wolf and SubZero stainless steel appliances. Brazilian cherry hardwood floors run throughout the condos, and the bathrooms are also quite lovely.

The Wooster and Mercer Lofts are known for their friendly staff, front desk, and concierge service. Other amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center, a club room, a dog park, and secure garage parking. The location is also ideal, situated in Rosslyn but also close to the next-door Courthouse neighborhood. The Rosslyn Metro and Courthouse Metro stations are each within walking distance. This is the heart of the popular Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor, with nearby restaurants such as Quinn’s, Barley Mac, Mele Bistro, and Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar. When it comes time to gather groceries for those impressive chef-inspired kitchens, you can do so at Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, or the local farmers market.
