The mixed-use complex with some 128 residences has gone through major renovations and changes in recent years, including a collection of street level restaurants and retailers with frontage along Wisconsin Avenue and M Street. Originally built in 1981, the large brick complex was expanded in 1989, with numerous updates since that time.

The low-rise brown brick appearance of Georgetown Park mirrors original parts of the structure, including a tobacco warehouse facing the canal that dates back to the 1830s. The sprawling complex is now home to two entities, the Georgetown Park Residences at the upper levels, and the Georgetown Park Shopping Mall. The 1980s version saw major changes in 2014 resulting in more outward facing businesses to complement the highly strollable brick sidewalks that are so synonymous with the famed Georgetown lifestyle experience. Georgetown Park is located along Wisconsin Avenue and wrapping around M Street to the north. The buildings also abuts the historic C&O Canal along their southern side, making it a delightful place to visit and explore. The expansion and redevelopment of the old tobacco warehouse (and subsequent stables) began in 1975 and was described at the time as the most complex project on the east coast. The original façade along Wisconsin Avenue remains in place today. But modern amenities abound inside, both with the residences, shops, and restaurants. The condominium component offers one and two-bedroom floorplans, ranging in size from approximately 950 to 1,450 square feet. These are lovely, luxury residences with hardwood floors, wood-burning fireplaces, tall built-ins, and spacious kitchens that have often been remodeled. Most of the units have either terraces or patios, typically overlooking the canal.
Condo residents at Georgetown Park enjoy a front desk, fitness enter, and rooftop pool and lounge. There are also quaint exterior brick walkways, gardens, and a courtyard. The downstairs shops and restaurants are an integral part of the appeal, and currently include J Crew, Anthropologie, Olivia Macaron, Vuori, Gold’s Gym, and Pinstripes, an Italian American bistro with both bowling and bocce lanes. Other dining options include Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls, as well as Osteria Mozza, a new and innovative shopping and dining experience due to open in 2024. There are numerous other shops and restaurants immediately adjacent, including Dean & DeLuca, Clyde’s of Georgetown, City Tavern, and Filomena Ristorante. In short, this is one of the neighborhood’s perennially popular destination places, just two short blocks from Georgetown Waterfront Park and the Potomac River.
