Luxury New Constructions in Washington Metro
Sometimes referred to as DMV for the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia, the DC Metro area is comprised of countless neighborhoods, villages, towns, cities, and counties. This is one of the oldest parts of the nation with colonial era roots and the establishment of the federal seat of government. You’ll find many historic districts throughout Washington, DC and surrounding areas.
As a result, much of the new construction in DC itself is found in residential communities outside of the densely populated urban areas. Highly desirable Northwest neighborhoods such as the Palisades, Spring Valley, Tenleytown, and Chevy Chase, for example, have been known as ripe spots for very high end new home construction. As you head further away from Washington’s epicenter, the volume of recently built residences continues to grow
Sprawling Prince George’s County in Maryland covers nearly 500 square miles of land and has been known as a hotbed of new residential development in the modern era. This is one of the most fertile areas for new luxury construction, and for competitive prices. The national housing slump of the early 2000’s led to a surplus of available new upscale properties for years afterward. And while those relative bargains are no longer as prevalent, it is still a county with a lot of bang for the real estate buck.
Loudoun County with its gently rolling hills and wide open spaces is another part of Washington Metro where lavish estates reign supreme. A rapid population growth driven by the county’s tech corridor, has matched perfectly with massive expanses of undeveloped land. Here you’ll find some of the biggest mansions in the entire Washington Metro area, often on multi-acre parcels of land, and with all the extra bells and whistles from swimming pools to horse stables.
You’ll also find recently or newly built homes throughout areas closer to DC, such as Arlington, Alexandria, and Fairfax. One of the poshest communities in the entire region, McLean in Fairfax County is very well known for record breaking real estate prices and eye-popping designs, from new Mediterranean-style manors to stunning modernist designs from some of the top architects in the nation.
Similarly, sought-after communities such as Bethesda and Potomac in Maryland’s affluent Montgomery County are prime spots for newer luxury homes on meticulously landscaped grounds. Whether you want something that’s custom built to order, or an existing property that was completed during a recent period of time, newer homes can be a welcome and refreshing change in a historic part of the country.
