modern condo features at 1055 high

The Washington, DC luxury six-story building is set on a pitched lot, with two levels of below ground parking. There is street level retail space and a lobby, with four levels of living space with either one or two residences at each level, allowing maximum size and privacy. The floorplans range from 3,297 to 4,303 square feet of living space, each with an organic layout that feels much more like a house than a typical condo. Each unit is either three bedrooms plus a library, our four bedrooms, and either 3.5 or 4.5 baths. There is a private outdoor terrace for every residence, and one of the units has two levels of space. Wood floors, European chef-designed kitchens with chic panelized cabinetry and appliances, fireplaces, and spa-inspired baths are among the stylish features. Massive floor-to-ceiling multipaned windows offer exquisite views.

It is almost unheard of for a boutique condominium with so few residences, to offer any substantial number of amenities. But 1055 High clearly breaks that mold, with 24-hour staffed services, an incredible 45-foot long heated outdoor upper level swimming view with treetop views of the city, a landscaped rooftop terrace with exquisite wood flooring, a rooftop fitness center with wraparound full-height windows, a swanky modern lobby designed by Donghia, a bicycle room, and two garage parking spaces for each residence along with additional storage. The seven units sold out almost immediately after the building’s completion in the fall of 2014, with original prices between $3 million and $5 million. There have been some resales since then, with prices often exceeding their original amount. As one might expect, any resale opportunities come with much anticipation as the building is one of the most sought-after in Georgetown.

While there are other luxury condominiums in Georgetown next to the historic C&O Canal such as Flour Mill and 3303 Water Street it is rarer to find a residential building with walls that are flush with the waterway. Such is the case with 1055 High, with its front entrance on Wisconsin A venue and its backside essentially merging with the walls of the canal as field stone transitions to red brick. This highly modern boutique condominium not only offers an unusual array of amenities for such an intimate building, it is also located in one of Georgetown's hottest areas, right by upscale shops, top restaurants, Georgetown Waterfront Park, and the Potomac River.
